FSR PRO R8: Wengler impresses in sensational Silverstone race!

The eigth round of the PRO series saw Jacques start from a lowly P19 due to a Q1 cut last time out at Hockenheim, Henry missed out on a Q2 spot and started in the mid-pack.

To the race start and Jacques narrowly avoided a penalty for a jump start before Henry got collected in the lap 1 carnage. Jacques on the other hand stormed through the field from P19 to well inside the top ten by the end of the first lap.

Jacques then set about passing cars and despite using the harder compound of tyres, he made light work of Alari Algpeus and Samuel Carpenter. Jacques now set about keeping his tyres in good condition following the first round of stops from the race leaders.

Jacques opted for a one-stop strategy unlike most of the field. Come the pit exit Jacques made a daring move on Christof Schgoer despite being on cold tyres. Into Stowe later that lap Jacques made a daring move around the outside of Adrian Falcon.

Towards the end of the race, Championship leader Jeroen Kweekel was catching rapidly being on much fresher tyres. It was invetiable that he would overtake the Luxembourg driver, and with a handful of laps to go he took the race lead.

Jacques didn't give up without a fight, and closed the gap down having dropped back for a lap or so. But on much older tyres, there was no way he could re-take the lead and two consecutive mistakes halted his charge.
